About Our Town
Murdo is located 70 miles south of the Missouri River on I-90. Named for a famous cattleman, Murdo Mackenzie, it reflects the heritage of the Northern Plains, pioneer ranchers, and homesteaders. It's also the hometown of United States Senator, John Thune.
